“Convert Buddha latch-hook rug.” 2012. Rug made from yarn and canvas from factory latch-hook craft kit. 30” x 30” x 2”. 

Two robes.

  • “Sushi dôfuku”
    cotton with poly lining.
    sized to fit a woman 5’4”. 
    machine sewn. 
  • “ACU jikitotsu”
    cotton/nylon blend with poly lining. 
    sized to fit a linebacker.
    hand-sewn. 

The dôfuku is the garment of the lay monastic, tea master, or artisan from the Momoyama period in Japan. The jikitotsu is the monastic garb of that same period (still seen today with minor variations). More robes are forthcoming.

The military badges on the second robe are standard issue. The dharma wheel is the official rank insignia for Buddhist chaplains in the Army.
